Editorial, Publication and Peer-Review Policy
SampratiVartah (ISSN: 2456-3943), founded on September 16, 2015, and supported by the Sanskrita Prachara Sabha, is a premier teacher-led digital ecosystem operating dual-wings: a comprehensive online Sanskrit daily newspaper and a formal, peer-reviewed open-access academic research journal section (E-Journal).
Our overarching mission is "Sanskrit through Digital Journalism"—integrating modern media, technology, and rigorous academic research to make Sanskrit accessible, relevant, and engaging in the digital age.
1. Academic Peer-Review Policy (E-Journal Wing)
To uphold the absolute integrity of academic research in Sanskrit Language, Literature, Vedic Studies, and Traditional Indian Knowledge Systems, the E-Journal section strictly enforces a Double-Blind Peer Review Process:
Initial Screening: The Chief Editor reviews all submitted manuscripts for initial alignment with formatting guidelines, academic scope, and potential plagiarism.
Double-Blind Evaluation: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent subject matter experts (from our Editorial Board or external peer reviewers). The identities of both authors and reviewers remain completely concealed throughout the process.
Editorial Verdict: Based on the detailed evaluations and recommendations of the peer reviewers, the Editorial Board exercises final authority to Accept, Request Minor/Major Revisions, or Reject the manuscript.
2. Open Access and Licensing Policy
Open Access Framework: Believing in the free and democratic dissemination of knowledge, SampratiVartah operates on a complete Open Access model. All news, educational materials, and peer-reviewed research papers are instantly and permanently accessible online to readers worldwide without institutional or subscription barriers.
Copyright & Creative Commons: All formal academic articles published in our E-Journal wing are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain the absolute copyright of their scholarship while granting SampratiVartah the right of first formal publication.
3. Publication Ethics and Plagiarism
Zero-Tolerance for Plagiarism: SampratiVartah stands firmly against any form of academic piracy. Every submission must consist of completely original research, must not be under evaluation elsewhere, and must not have been previously published.
Misconduct Prevention: Any verified instance of academic data fabrication, overlapping/redundant publication, or unethical sourcing will result in immediate rejection or subsequent retraction of the published paper.
4. Author Guidelines & Manuscript Submission
Linguistic Scope: The primary language of publication for the formal peer-reviewed E-Journal section is Sanskrit (rendered in the Devanagari script). However, high-quality scholarly research papers composed in English or Hindi that directly intersect with Sanskrit linguistics, historical pedagogy, and classical literature are actively considered.
Formatting: Contributors must submit their manuscripts in editable MS Word format alongside a corresponding PDF. Submissions must explicitly include an informative Abstract and relevant Keywords.
5. Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy
To protect and secure published intellectual property against unforeseen technical failures, server migrations, or data loss, SampratiVartah implements reliable long-term digital preservation strategies:
All formal research papers and associated metadata are preserved within permanent cloud infrastructures linked through secure repository environments.
The platform's active pages are periodically indexed and crawled by global digital archiving entities (such as the Wayback Machine / Internet Archive), guaranteeing that this scholarly record remains accessible to future generations of researchers.
6. Journal Journalism Separation (Disclaimer)
While SampratiVartah functions daily as an active journalistic media house promoting student participation, science communication, and cultural reporting, its E-Journal archive exists as an independent, strictly monitored academic space. The analytical viewpoints, arguments, and conclusions articulated within the research papers belong solely to the respective authors and do not inherently mirror the formal administrative viewpoints of the Editorial Board or the executive management of SampratiVartah.
7. Responsible Journalism & Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Across our news and pedagogical workflows, SampratiVartah selectively leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) exclusively as an analytical aid (for language refinement, script editing, research sorting, and visual layout optimization).
The Human Rule: AI tools are explicitly barred from making standalone editorial selections or publishing content independently. Every line of AI-assisted text is subject to mandatory human verification, correction, and final clearance by our editors.
AI is never deployed to simulate or fabricate quotes, invent fake citations, or present synthetic reporting as authentic news journalism.
8. Editorial Independence and Corrections Policy
Independence: SampratiVartah enforces complete wall-to-wall editorial independence. Our content remains strictly uninfluenced by commercial, corporate, or external political groups. We do not participate in or publish paid, sponsored news.
Corrections: Accountability is core to our operations. When a linguistic, technical, or factual error is brought to light, the editorial team corrects the entry promptly, logging notable updates transparently to inform our readership.
